De VOO zond de Top 60 van de jaren 60 voor het eerst uit op Radio 3 op 21 oktober 1988.

Op 25 september 1992 presenteerde Wessel van Diepen, Michael Pilarczyk, Erik de Zwart en Jeroen van Inkel deze lijst op Radio 3.

Op 30 juni 1993 zond de VOO nogmaals de 60 beste platen uit de jaren 60 van de vorige eeuw uit, maar dan op Radio 2. Dit was in het kader van Back to the Sixties maand.
